Tech Tip Tuesday
Tech Tip Tuesday: The word "Whoa" should only be used when you are able to enforce it. Using "Whoa" and not enforcing the word will only teach your horse to ignore the command. Think about the story of the little boy who cried wolf. I teach all of my horses that the word "Whoa" means to back up 100% of the time, I never use the word on the ground, only in the saddle. I want my horses to respect the word and understand that when I use it, if the take another step forward that we will fall off of a cliff. This is great for training and teaching a horse to stop, but also works great for safety's sake.
